Hi There, I’m Clay.
I've spent more than a decade working across public policy, healthcare, communications, and strategy. The through-line has always been the same: helping mission-driven people and organizations grow and make an impact.
I hold a bachelor's degree in public affairs and a master's degree in public policy, and I'm currently pursuing a master's in mental health counseling at the University of Pennsylvania, an experience that has deepened my understanding of how to get to the heart of the problem, and what motivates people to act.
My cross-sector experience has prepared me well to understand and navigate complexity. I understand how healthcare organizations grow, how campaigns are won, and how the right message at the right moment can change what's possible.
I've launched go-to-market strategies from scratch, supported nonprofits in centering both their mission and sustained viability, built referral networks that drove meaningful growth, run communications for elected officials, and directed campaign strategy for progressive candidates and advocacy organizations. Whatever the arena, the work has always been about connecting people to one another, and to something consequential.
I serve on the boards of directors of Mazzoni Center and Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania, two organizations whose missions reflect my deep commitment to health equity, LGBTQIA+ affirmative care, and access to services for the communities that need them most.
Outside of work and school, I'm an avid reader, theater enthusiast, and nature lover on a mission to visit every U.S. national park, and I’m currently 25% of the way there. Born and raised in New York, I now proudly call South Philly home, where I live with my husband and our cats, Margo and Grayson.
My Approach
Every consultation starts the same way: I listen. Before any strategy is built or any story is told, I want to understand what you're working toward, what's getting in the way, and what drives you to do this work in the first place. That's how we cut through the complexity and get to what actually matters.
From there, the work is about helping you build something compelling; a brand that reflects who you really are, a story that moves people, a strategy that connects you to the communities you serve. The goal isn't to impose a framework on you. It's to help you reveal yourself and your mission through what you put out into the world.
I believe in meeting people where they are, both the clients I work with, and the people they serve. That means showing up with honesty and flexibility, and approaching every interaction with professionalism, understanding, and compassion.
Doing my best to ensure equitable access is core to my own mission. I offer a sliding scale fee structure for individuals and organizations that are doing important work, but don't have the resources that are typically required to engage these types of services.
